The Big City is a 1966 Brazilian drama film directed by Carlos Diegues. The subtitle is "The adventures and misadventures of Luzia and her 3 friends who arrived from afar". Music by Heckel Tavares, Ernesto Nazareth , Villa Lobos and Zé Kéti (composer of the theme "The Big City"). Musical direction by Moacir Santos and production by Zelito Viana Luzia travels from the backwoods of Brazil to Rio de Janeiro to search for her fiance. She quickly finds out he has become a dangerous criminal and is wanted by the police.
